Take a look around you, especially on the road. It seems like everyone owns a luxury car these days. And then you look down at your steering wheel at your economy car logo and wonder... " Does everyone make more money than me? Have luxury cars have become cheaper or are people really making more money in a "bad economy"?" Well the truth is a little simpler than it looks. Many people have discovered the art of locating top of the line, low mileage, used luxury cars from online dealers. The pricing on like new Mercedes, BMW's, and Audi's online is actually unbelievable. I would have never guest it my self if I hadn't pulled up to my office one day and there was Tara in a what looked like a brand new Audi. All I could think about was the sticker price shock I experienced the first time I walked on an Audi Dealer lot. I consider myself a pretty frugal guy and just couldn't imagine paying out $900 a month on some $50,000 car. What I found out later was Tara bought her car through an online import dealer. I always heard when I was in the military that you could buy Mercedes and BMW for less overseas. I had friends come back with these unbelievable cars from Germany and my mouth would drop when they told me what they bought it for. But when you added up the costs to fly over there, get a hotel, spending money, shipping the car back, dealing with customs and import tax, it barely seemed worth all the hassle. What never dawned on me is that now with the internet, you have dealers right here in the USA who have created whole business models around eliminating that hassle.
Still a little hesitant about buying online? Yeah, me too... well until I found that there are online dealers who will let you fly in, test drive your car, and ride right of the lot with it. Whats even better is that some of them are right in your back yard. Ok, So now you wanna know where, who, how, and why? I'm in the Philadelphia metro area and I found one of these dealers literally 25 minutes away. They had their entire inventory online and their prices were considerably less than most of the other places i had looked. I was still a little skeptical and up pops a chat window and I immediately started asking about different vehicles. The Salesman suggested I give him a call, scheduled an appointment to come in for a test drive, and gave me directions. Even offered to come pick me up if I wanted to take the train in. WOW.. That's not only a great sales trick but thats service. You see if I had driven all the way out there in my car I would have had an issue leaving the same day in the new one ( food for thought, that I didn't think about until after I left) I was pretty amazed at the selection. I had never seen that many luxury cars at a used car dealership that wasn't owned by a major luxury car brand.
Ok, So what about quality? I don't want to drive off the lot with a lemon. To my surprise all the cars I looked at seemed to still be under manufacturer warranty, had significantly low mileage, and they had already mentioned extended warranties. It's hard to keep up your "Used Car Salesman Guard" when they got all the right answers. I actually had the opportunity to speak with the owner, his name was George. It was probably one of the best car shopping experiences I've had. I highly recommend giving it a try. If you want this dealers information go to www.eimports4less.com

Man controls his BMW with his cell phone
Alright all you BMW fans, could you ever imagine being able to control your BMW with your phone. Even though I'm in the Philadelphia area, I like to read news from all over the world. It comes in handy when you import luxury used cars for a living. But this really blew my mind. Some young man in China tinkering around with his cell phone figured a way out to turn his phone into a remote control for his Beamer. Its actually pretty amazing.
